The Innovative Engineering and Sustainability Journal (IESJ) was established with the strong spirit of collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Indonesia, and the School of Engineering, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand, on 14 September 2021.

The Innovative Engineering and Sustainability Journal aims at promoting research and innovation on applied engineering, sustainable technology, and environmental sustainability that promote sustainable development in Southeast Asian countries. This journal serves as one of the outlets for the research and innovation of these fields. 

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, innovative theories and applications in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering, biomedical engineering, instrumentation engineering, urban engineering, cross-cutting issues of technology and sustainability, with the focus area are particularly in Southeast Asia and Asia. 

The Journal adopts a peer-review process and upholds the liberty of academic principles, academic and scientific ethics, as well as publishing ethics. The Journal does have zero tolerance for plagiarism.

This is an open-access and peer-review journal that applies no article processing charge. The journal publishes the selected articles in English two times a year in June and December.  

The Journal aspires to be indexed in a prominent indexing database system such as Scopus, Web of Science/Web of Knowledge, Asean Citation Index, Thai Citation Index, Indonesian Publication Index, along the course of the process.
